Gas Golf Carts Common TroubleShoot
Golf Cart Losing Power On Hills? |
This is a common question we get... This could be any number of things the first question i would ask back to you is when was the last time you changed your Golf Cart Drive Belt... Your Drive Belt can wear two ways... It can wear thin where it wont give you as much torque to climb hills especially at higher speeds and it can stretch... When it goes thing you'll see damage on the outside rim of your drive belt. When this happens your clutch closes in on the drive belt but wont get as much grip and sometimes you'll feel it slip especially when its wet... To test if it is stretched place your index finger onto the belt as a resting position... Then push straight down... If your finger goes more than about 2 1/2 inches then you need a new drive belt... These belts need to be replace roughly every 2-4 years depending on use... Secondly it could be the compression in your engine... If your engine runs rough anyways and is getting rougher then you may have this problem where the rings in your piston or the piston itself is not creating enough seal.. You can get a Golf Cart Piston Kit and replace your piston if you have decent engine knowledge... Lastly and most costly it could be one of your clutches... If it is one of your clutches then you dont have much to do outside of replacing the clutch... This is costly and you need a puller bolt which are also about 30 dollars... DO NOT try to replace your golf cart clutch with a regular puller... You will damage the clutch and possibly the crankshaft.. Be safe and buy the puller bolt...

Golf Cart isnt getting fuel to Carbuerator? |
Common Problem... You have a couple of factors here... Most people think right away i need to replace my golf cart fuel pump... This isnt always the case... Your fuel pump is not electronic so it doesnt go bad often... Sometimes it can be bad normally its the seal and you can notice a small or a large leak of gasoline dripping out of it... The way you can test to see if its your fuel pump is take off the hose from the fuel pump that leads to the Golf Cart Carbuerator... Run your Golf Cart in Neutral and see if any gas gets pumped out of where the hose was... If it does then you know the line to the pump and the pump itself is working... If it is not then one of two things has happened.. Either the line coming from the tank is clogged... The line going back to the engine is clogged... Or the Fuel pump itself has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced... If that does work then reattach the hose and disconnect the hose running to the carbuerator at the carbuerator... run the cart again and if gas pumps out of that then you know your fuel pump is operational and getting gas to the carb... After this its probably a Carb Problem.. You can use some carb cleaner or get a professional to clean your carb for you... If cleaning the carb doesnt work then odds are its going to be an air problem and not a fuel problem after all... |
